The first call about a flat came in about 6:40 p.m., according to a sergeant with Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

One News Center 7 viewer emailed the WHIO-TV newsroom to report the following: “I just drove through downtown on 75 and there was probably 20 to 30 cars off the highway with some sort of damage. I thought . . . possibly flat tires due to people getting to their trunks for their spares.”

The viewer’s email indicated the hot spot was on the interstate before the Main Street exit. . . I’ve never seen so many cars pulled over in one spot.”

The sergeant with regional dispatch said police on scene don’t know whether the flats were caused by debris from an earlier vehicle accident or whether sharp objects were dropped from a truck.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol on scene as well, helping slow traffic in the area, the dispatch sergeant said.

We’re working to find out more about what happened tonight on I-75 North. We will update this developing report when we learn more.
