TIPP CITY — A shed fire in Tipp City resulted in a downed powerline and thousands in damages Sunday.
Just after 11 a.m. Tipp City fire crews were called to the 100 block of South 1st Street to reports of a shed fire, according to a media release.
When crews arrived on the scene they found a shed in the backyard of the home on fire, along with the wood fencing and items on the backside of the house.
The fire had also burned through the live electric service drop wire, which was on the ground in the backyard.

The live wire prevented crews from going into the backyard, according to a release.
After the power company dropped the line, fire crews were able to able to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters said the cause of the fire was unauthorized burning in a fire pit.
Damages are estimated at $20,000 to the property and $4,000 to the contents, according to firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
