The second phase of the Salem Avenue reconstruction project, from West Riverview Avenue to North Avenue, begins today, May 16.

It is one of four phases of work on Salem Ave.

The city says slow-downs will occur as traffic gets cut down to one lane both ways. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route when possible.

The project should take approximately 18 months to complete. It includes new pavement, sidewalks, utility poles, lighting, and other repairs.

The four-phase reconstruction is set to be complete by the end of 2025. For more information on the project, you can click here.
