CLARK COUNTY — The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning about a recent phone scam targeting the community.
The sheriff’s office says on Tuesday it took a report in reference to a person impersonating a Clark County Deputy Sheriff.

The scammer is calling residences and places of employment stating that he is Deputy Wayne Farland with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and providing a phone number of 937-530-3749.
The individual will then state that you failed to appear for jury duty and that you need to pay $900.00 for failure to appear, according to the sheriff’s office.

They scammer also states that you need to bring the money to the Clark County Jail where he will meet you.
The sheriff’s office is reminding the public that this is a scam and that the it does not conduct business in this manner.
Anyone who is contacted by someone in reference to jury duty is asked to contact the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 937-328-2560.
