Riverside schools student killed in weekend crash near Degraff

LOGAN COUNTY — A Riverside Local Schools senior was killed in a crash at the intersection of State Route 47 and County Road 35 Saturday morning, according to the district and a Logan County Sheriff’s Office crash report.

McKinzie Noggler, 17, of Quincy, was at the intersection stopped at the stop sign on CR35, when she drove into the path of a truck that was going east on SR47, according to the crash report.

The truck hit the car Noggler was driving on the driver’s side. Noggler was take to Mary Rutan Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Noggler’s passenger Brooklyn Jackson, 17, of Degraff, was seriously hurt and was taken to Mary Rutan for treatment. A 16-year-old who also was a passenger was seriously hurt and taken to Wilson Memorial in Sidney for treatment of his injuries.

“Please keep her loved ones in your prayers,” Riverside Local Schools said in a Facebook post after Noggler died. “Also pray for our Senior, Brooklyn Jackson, for a speedy recovery from her injuries.”

The Logan County Crisis Team is on the school’s campus today to speak with any students needing someone to talk to.

According to the crash report, Noggler is suspected of using marijuana and blood tests were given, but results were not immediately available.

The driver of the truck was not hurt, according to deputies.
