Resident spends days without power after pipes burst at Harrison Twp. apartment complex

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Miami Valley is thawing out after days of sub-zero temperatures.

Many are still dealing with the impacts, including residents at the Meadows of Catalpa apartments in Harrison Township.

Some residents said they have been without water for days.

Branden Pitts invited News Center 7 into his apartment to see how his family has had to live since their water stopped working Thursday.

“We can’t bathe, we couldn’t wash dishes, we couldn’t do anything without water,” Pitts said.

Then early Saturday morning the pipe in his bathroom burst, spraying water all over that room and down his hallway.

Then later that afternoon the pipe under his sink burst, flooding much of his kitchen.

“They were trying to make us feel better about it like ‘hey you’re not the only ones going through this’. It was a lot of people,” Pitts said.

Maintenance did come to fix his shower but he said it is still leaking.

Pitts said the water came back on Monday.

News Center 7′s Xaiver Hershovitz spoke with the managers of the building who said they are working to get everyone their water back on as fast as they can.

They said with over 300 units in total and the holiday weekend it’s been tough to keep up.
