Premier Health holds first “Brake for Breakfast” event of the month

MIAMI VALLEY — Premier Health is hosting multiple “Brake for Breakfast” events this October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

While commuting to work, anyone can drive through and pick up a free breakfast bag and helpful breast health information.

Breakfast is offered at multiple locations from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. on the following days:

  • Oct. 5 at Miami Valley Hospital North in Englewood
  • Oct. 7 at Upper Valley Medical Center Outpatient Care Center - North in Piqua
  • Oct. 12 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown
  • Oct. 14 at Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville

Organizers hope that “Brake for Breakfast” encourages more women 40 and older to get an annual mammogram and tell their mothers, sisters, and daughters to do the same, stated a press release from Premier Health.

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 40,000 women die annually from breast cancer. A woman’s chances for survival are good if detected early.
