Task force executes drug-related search of Franklin apartment

FRANKLIN — UPDATE @ 2:30 p.m.: 

Franklin police and the Warren County Drug Task Force executed search warrants after spotting a suspicious person near an apartment complex Friday, according to investigators.

An officer in the area spotted “suspicious activity” with  a person who police had been in contact with previously regarding drugs, Franklin police Sgt. Troy Wolf said.

After investigating, police and the Warren County Drug Task Force were able to obtain a search warrant and searched vehicles and an apartment on South River Road.

Wolf said drugs have been located, but didn’t specify what investigators recovered.

No arrests have been made yet, Wolf said.

We’re working to learn more about a police investigation at a Franklin apartment complex Friday afternoon.

Multiple Franklin police and Ohio State Highway Patrol cruisers are at the complex near the intersection of South River and West Sixth streets.

Officials at the scene said they are executing a search warrant at an apartment and are also searching a parked vehicle.

Three of the units on scene are K-9 units, according to our crew on the scene.
