FAIRBORN — A driver was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after a shooting incident in Fairborn which is believed to be connected to an earlier shots fired report on I-70 in Huber Heights, according to police.
A caller reported shots were fired from a pickup truck near East Xenia Drive and North Central Avenue in Fairborn around 10:15 a.m. Officers made a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle on Ohio 235 and arrested the driver, according to Fairborn police.
Officers believe the incident in Fairborn is connected to a morning shooting incident on I-70 in Huber Heights.
Huber Heights police announced that a person of interest in the incident was in the custody of Fairborn police.
A crash was reported around 6:25 a.m. on I-70 West near Ohio 235. The driver involved in the crash reported they were shot at by a pickup truck before the crash, according to Huber Heights police.
According to a media release, Huber Heights police were looking for a black Dodge Ram pickup truck connected to their shooting incident. The truck that is the subject of the traffic stop by Fairborn police is a black Dodge Ram.

Earlier on Thursday morning, a crash on I-70 was reported in Huber Heights after the driver reported shots were fired from a vehicle.
