DAYTON — UPDATE @ 2:25 p.m.: 

A 70-year-old woman was attacked and stabbed by another woman with a butcher’s knife outside a home on Shelley Drive, according to Dayton police.

The suspect, only identified as a masked woman, attacked the victim from behind, stabbing her in the neck and a hand, investigators said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Her condition was not released but police said her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

A K9 officer was requested to attempt to track the suspect but has been unsuccessful, according to initial reports.

Police and medics have responded to reports of a person stabbed at a house on Shelley Drive Wednesday afternoon, according to initial reports.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 1:25 p.m. to the house in the 1500 block of Shelley Drive after a woman reported she was stabbed by another woman, according to police scanner traffic.

The condition of the victim was not immediately known.

Police have requested a K9 officer to respond to help track a suspect, according to initial reports.
