MIAMI VALLEY — The Ohio Department of Transportation is urging the public to avoid travel Wednesday as a winter storm is expected to hit the state.
“The Wednesday morning commute will be very challenging for most of Ohio. Plan ahead. If you can avoid travel, please do,” a post on ODOT’s social media stated.

Matt Bruning, press secretary for ODOT said many of their crews are planning to hit the road starting Tuesday night.
Our crews will hit the road, in some locations, later tonight. Already, our ODOT comms team has done 24 interviews ahead of the storm. Another 18 are scheduled for tomorrow. The winter storm will bring snow and rain to Miami Valley starting after midnight Tuesday.

Precipitation will arrive around or after 2 a.m. and briefly start as a mix before quickly switching to snow, according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.
Some areas could see four to seven inches of snow Wednesday.
Cities such as Trotwood and Englewood are urging residents to not park on the street so their plows can remove any snow that falls quickly.
