A new canoe rental operation will begin Sunday in Troy, bringing new life to the Treasure Island area of the city.
Chris Jackson, owner of the Adventures on the Great Miami River, has a contract to operate the business.
Jackson said he will begin moving into the new rental site on Friday and will open to the public on Sunday.
A light house dedication is also planned for Sunday and is in addition to other improvements to Treasure Island, to include an amphitheater and new restaurant.
The total project at Treasure Island is estimated to be around $2 million.
