The adulticide will be applied shortly before sundown and will continue for about 90 minutes, according to a release.

Greene County Public Health says the purpose of fogging for mosquitoes is to reduce the mosquito population and the risk of West Nile virus, which can, in some cases, be fatal.

The treatment will be sprayed north of Shakertown Road, east of I-675, west of Firewood Drive and south of East Patterson Road.

Public health said the sanitarians will stop the application when they see families out walking the neighborhood, out in their yard or an open garage door.

If you wish to opt out of the adulticide activity in the area around your home, contact Greene County Public Health at 937-374-5607.
