Moraine man pleads no contest to charges after missing Middletown woman found dead

MORAINE — The man charged with several felonies after a missing Middletown woman’s remains were found near his Moraine home has pleaded no contest to the charges.

Gilbert Revere, 59, was indicted on two counts of tampering with evidence and single counts of gross abuse of corpse and failing to report knowledge of a death.

A search warrant return unveiled what items police seized from the Hemple Road property, where Michelle Burgan’s body was discovered in September 2018.

The court documents show police found Burgan’s ID card, Social Security card and other miscellaneous cards in a wallet at the property in the 5500 block of Hemple Sept. 6.

Police also recovered prescription medications belonging to Burgan and other personal items of Burgan’s in a tub and tote container, the court records show.

Burgan’s remains were found hidden under a tent in a wooded area on the property and police arrested Revere, who lived at the house on the property.

Police responded to the house after Middletown police asked Moraine police to check the address for Burgan, who was reported missing back on May 16, 2017, records show.

Burgan’s remains were formally identified by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Revere is scheduled to be sentenced on June 30.
