DAYTON — Montgomery County commissioners on Tuesday approved a resolution to provide $500,000 to the city of Dayton to support CareSource’s expansion project.
Dayton and the county are expected to contribute about $1 million to help CareSource build an office tower less than two blocks from its downtown headquarters.
Commissioners authorized the county to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Dayton that calls for the city to also provide $500,000 to the project from its development fund.
Dayton city commissioners are expected to vote Wednesday night on economic incentives benefiting the development proposal. CareSource officials have said the project will need economic assistance to be successful.
“This will solidify their presence downtown in the city of Dayton,” City Manager Shelley Dickstein said last week.
