Miami Valley drug task force makes arrest following narcotics seizure during traffic stop

MIAMI VALLEY — The Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force arrested a 42-year-old man from California during a narcotics investigation.

On Thursday, the task force arrested Cory Johnson, of Pomona, California, after evidence was gathered indicating that he was allegedly involved in narcotics trafficking, according to an announcement from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

As part of the investigation, agents conducted a probable cause traffic stop on a vehicle that resulted in the seizure of 10 kilograms of cocaine and one pound of Marijuana, the release said.

“These drugs pose a real danger to every community member in America and are having fatal consequences across the nation,” said Sheriff Rob Streck. “This case is a great example of how the combined efforts of local, state, and federal agencies are helping to keep our community safe and get illegal drugs off of our streets.”

Johnson is facing a charge of trafficking cocaine and remains in the Montgomery County Jail, according to the release.
