2 transported by medical helicopters after crash in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY — Two people were transported to a local hospital by medical helicopters after a head-on crash in Clark County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Snider Road at the I-70 overpass, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Friday evening.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Donny Cox, 72 of New Carlisle, and his Wife Grestina Cox were traveling North on Snider Road. Angelica Perkins, 47 of Springfield, was traveling South on Snider, when she went left of center and struck Cox head-on.

Both drivers were cut from their vehicles and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by medical helicopters. They both sustained serious injuries.

Grestina Cox suffered minor injuries.

OSHP said in a press release that Cox swerved right prior to the accident, trying to avoid Perkins.

All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
