Man shot in Springfield neighborhood taken to hospital by CareFlight

SPRINGFIELD — One man was taken by CareFlight to the hospital after being shot in Springfield late Wednesday night.

Springfield Regional Dispatch tells us crews responded to a reported shooting in the 1700 block of South Fountain Avenue around 11:39 p.m.

When crews arrived they found one male who had a gunshot wound to the back of his leg.

According to dispatch’s records, CareFlight took the male to Springfield Regional for his injury.

Further details have not been made available at this time.
