Bond set at $1 million in Wentworth Avenue deadly shooting

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 11:50 a.m. (Nov. 7):

Bond was retained at $1 million for a man accused of shooting and killing a Dayton man.

Jamariyo Drane, 26, was scheduled to for arraignment on Tuesday, but it was continued until Thursday.

Drane is facing two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and having weapons while under disability.

EARLIER REPORT:

A 26-year-old man who is accused in the fatal shooting of a Dayton man in late October will be arraigned in court today.

Jamariyo Drane allegedly shot and killed Calvin C. Tribble, 21, on Oct. 23. Tribble was found fatally shot inside a parked car on Wentworth Avenue.

A suspect vehicle was pursued by police, but eluded officers until the vehicle was found parked and unoccupied.

Drane was later arrested and booked into jail in connection to the shooting before multiple charges, including murder, were approved by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office against him.

He faces charges on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault in connection to Tribble’s death. Drane also will face two separate charges of felonious assault for injuries two other people in the same car as Tribble suffered in the incident, officials said.

The victim, Calvin C. Tribble, was one of several men who served time in prison for a string of pharmacy robberies across the Miami Valley in 2017. 

Drane will be arraigned in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
