“I think the fire was under control with 20, 25 minutes,” Doug Hatcher Fire Marshal with Moraine Fire Department said.
Officials suspect the decades-old furnace is the reason for the fire.
Firefighters brought in extra water because of the lack of resources in the mobile home park.
“There are no hydrants so we ended up using the engine water, the water on the ladder, and then also a mutual aid engine came in and gave us some water,” Hatcher said.
The man who lived at the mobile home said it had been his home for 12 years.
He said he can’t afford to move into another unit and is trying to figure out where he can go.
We will continue to follow this story.
