UPDATE: ‘Armed and dangerous’ Celina man wanted in 3 counties still on lam

UPDATE @ 10:12 p.m. (Oct. 2): Cory Gross, wanted in three counties and considered by Celina police to be armed and dangerous, apparently remains on the lam Tuesday night.

Police in Celina and deputies in sheriff's offices in Auglaize, Mercer and Shelby counties said they have no new updates or information about whether Gross has been apprehended.

INITIAL REPORT (Oct. 1)

Police have issued an alert for a man they believe has a handgun and a bullet-resistant vest and has threatened “suicide by cop.”

Cory Gross, 36, is deemed “armed and dangerous” and is wanted in three northern counties in the Miami Valley — Mercer, Auglaize and Shelby — on drug-related charges.

Gross has a violent history, Celina police said Monday via social media.

He is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to have been spotted in the Celina, Coldwater and St. Marys areas, police said.

Spokespeople for the police agencies in the counties where Gross is wanted have reported he is not currently in custody at time of writing.

Police are advising that you do not approach Gross if you see him.
