A local soldier who was seriously injured by an improvised explosive device has returned home after being deployed in 2017.
U.S. Chief Petty Officer Kenton Stacy left his hospital room in California Tuesday afternoon to return home to his family in San Diego where he’s based.

Stacy, an explosive ordinance technician, was hurt while clearing a hospital in Syria two years ago.
He’s a 2002 graduate of Greenville High School and a father of four children.
