I-75 North in downtown Dayton reopens nearly 4 hours after crash

UPDATE @ 9:10 p.m.: The northbound lanes of I-75 in downtown Dayton reopened to traffic at 8:57 p.m., according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch sergeant.

INITIAL REPORT

As many as two people have been taken to a hospital from a multiple-vehicle accident on I-75 North in downtown Dayton that shut down the northbound lanes more than two hours.

According to Dayton police Sgt. Anderson, the driver of a minivan or van apparently swerved and ended up partially beneath the rear of a semitrailer.

The sergeant shared a photo of the accident, which occurred about 5 p.m. in the area of 75 North at North Main Street.

According to Anderson, the driver of the minivan or van was not seriously injured.

A police department traffic accident reconstruction team continued its investigation into the evening.

We're working to find out more about the accident and other injuries.

The northbound lanes were still closed at 7:10 p.m.
