KETTERING — Kettering City Schools will move to full remote learning on Nov. 30 with Montgomery County’s moves to purple Level 4 under the state’s health advisory system this week.

District Superintendent Scott Inskeep said the district wanted to keep students in the classroom, but the move to purple would force the district to make changes next week.

“The health and safety of our students, staff and families is and always will be my top priority,” said Inskeep. “All students will be engaged in remote learning and we will not be able to provide services to students in our buildings.”

The superintendent said the move is the right one for the district to make.

“I wish I had different news for you as we head into Thanksgiving Week, but I also feel that it is my obligation to make decisions that will help our community, our county and our state get a handle on the surge in cases of COVID-19,” Inskeep said.

Kettering schools reported nine new cases last week, including three students and six staff.
