‘I just immediately attacked him’: Man fights off burglar in Miamisburg

A man fought off a burglar in his home after he was spotted standing over his 10-month-old son inside his Miamisburg residence.

Officers responded to a burglary at the home on Cottage Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Friday.

“I woke up out of my dead sleep and I just see a flash pointing at me and he’s standing over my son’s crib,” the man who called 911 told News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy.  “I just immediately attacked him and was just trying to get him away from my son.”

An incident report from the Miamisburg Police Department does not show any arrests being made in the case.  The victim described the burglar as a man in his 40s with grey hair, weighing around 250 pounds and wearing glasses.

The victim said he pushed the burglar down the stairs while he confronted him.

The burglar ran out of the house, leaving behind his cell phone and glasses, the victim told News Center 7.
