DAYTON — A jury has reached a verdict in the trial of a man accused of killing a 22-year-old landscaper.
News Center 7’s Mike Campbell was in court as the verdict was announced. He will have the latest LIVE on News Center 7 at 5:00.
Travis Jackson was found guilty on all counts in the murder of Tanner Staggs last September.
The jury deliberated for seven hours last night and today.
Jackson put his hand to his face when hearing the jury convicted him of murder, the most serious of six charges against him.
Prosecutors said Jackson argued with landscapers working at his neighbor’s home.

They said he became upset over grass clippings that got on his car.
His lawyer said Jackson made a reasonable request and only fired his gun after being hit without warning.
One of the last things the jury saw was body camera video of a landscape crew member.
The landscaper said he thought Jackson came out of his home looking for a fight.
Other landscapers earlier in the trial claimed Jackson spoke disrespectfully to them and kept arguing until he pulled out his weapon and fired two shots.
None of them backed up Jackson’s claims of being assaulted, something he also told 911 dispatchers and police officers.
One officer even checked Jackson’s head and neck area, where he claimed to have been hit.
Jackson is due to be sentenced on June 10.
