Winter blast brings FREEZE WARNING to parts of Miami Valley

Dayton broke another snow record for the area with the most number of measurable snow days in April. A tenth of an inch of snow was measured Monday night, making it the fifth day there has been measurable snow this month, according to the National Weather Service.

A Freeze Warning will last until 10 a.m. Tuesday for the following counties: Preble, Montgomery, Greene, Butler, Warren, and Clinton.

“Unprotected plants could be damaged or killed as temperatures drop into the low 30s”, Zontini said. 

TONIGHT: While some flurries are still possible, steadier snow showers have ended for most areas. A Freeze Warning is in effect tonight for areas along and south of I-70. It will be cold with temperatures falling to around 30 degrees by morning

TUESDAY: While a few flurries will be possible in the morning, clouds will gradually break as we head through the day. Temperatures will be slightly warmer, but remain cool with highs in the middle to upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds will be on the increase through the day with a chance for showers by late afternoon. It will also become windy and milder with highs reaching into the lower 60s.

THURSDAY: There is a chance of showers, mainly during the first half of the day. Clouds will break late with cooler, blustery conditions. Highs will drop back into the upper 40s.

FRIDAY: Sunny skies will end the week with a moderation in temperatures getting underway. Highs will rebound into the middle 50s.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies will start the weekend with highs in the upper 50s.
