Huber Heights City Council members are questioning whether the city’s $150,000 YMCA membership is worth continuing.
The city of Huber Heights pays the YMCA of Greater Dayton annually for parks and recreation services like keeping an accurate account of the city’s playground equipment. But council members acknowledge the city doesn’t know if the YMCA is providing all of the services.
The YMCA issue arose during a rancorous late-night work session Tuesday. Council members were divided on how to approach the YMCA over the issue, but ultimately instructed the city manager to talk to the YMCA director.
The director of the Y at the Heights could not immediately be reached for comment.
