Here’s how to dispose of debris from weekend high winds

Strong winds blew through the Miami Valley over the weekend, causing multiple tree limbs and branches to fall.

The following communities have released waste collection information for residents:

Kettering

  • Bulk waste collection is available each week at no additional costs.
  • Bulk waste includes wood products no larger than 4 inches in length and 2 inches in diameter. Waste should be tied securely.
  • Call the Waste Management Customer Service Center at 866-263-6645 or email customerservice_miohin@wm.com at least one business day in advanced.
  • Place bulk waste at the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on your normal collection day.
  • Yard waste should be placed in the trash and can mixed in with other trash.

Xenia/Fairborn

  • Yard waste can be dropped off at 2145 Greene Way Blvd. in Xenia.
  • Leaves, grass and brush up to 8 feet long and 4 inches in diameter are accepted.
  • Brush over 4 inches in diameter should be cut to firewood length
  • Stumps, apples, nuts, dirt and sod are not accepted.

Centerville

  • Small amounts of brush will be picked up if in a city-provided waste container.
  • Tree branches, limbs and other "woody" yard debris can be brought to the Public Works Center at 7970 S. Suburban Drive on Wednesdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and every third Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon.
  • Tree branches and limbs must be less than 10 inches in diameter and less than 8 inches in length. They do not need to be tied or bundled. Residents must show proof of residency.
  • Yard debris can be taken to the Montgomery County south transfer station at 1001 Encrete Lane in Moraine on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Miamisburg

  • Yard waste is collected with trash.
  • Brush placed at the curb must be tied in bundles no larger than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide.
