UPDATE: Teen taken to hospital after accidental shooting outside of Harrison Twp. liquor store

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — UPDATE: @ 2:37 p.m.

A teenager was injured after an accidental shooting Friday.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Salem Beverage and Market located in the 3400 block of Salem Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 16-year-old boy laying on the ground behind a black-colored Sport Utility type vehicle with a gunshot wound to his right knee area.

A preliminary investigation revealed the teen may have suffered the wound accidentally while handling a firearm inside of the vehicle.

The teenager was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

INITIAL REPORT:

A heavy law enforcement presence is currently outside of a Harrison Township liquor store.

Multiple sheriff’s cruisers are on scene of the Salem Beverage and Market located in the 3400 block of Salem Avenue.
