WARREN COUNTY — A water main break as well as a gas line break interrupted people’s day Saturday morning and is expected to continue to cause an inconvenience through most of Sunday as well.
During the winter months, pipes tend to much more frequently than in the summer.
William Keith Baker, field services assistant director for Montgomery County told News Center 7′s Kayla McDermott that the county has already had 65 main breaks.
In the summer Baker said the county usually has about nine per month.
Baker explained why cold temperatures cause these breaks to happen.

He said it’s due to the snow and the changing of temperatures.
This past week temperatures have bounced from the 50s to below freezing and are expected to shoot back up this weekend.
The pipes at times can’t handle the drastic weather changes.
The City of Franklin confirmed that crews are currently fixing the pipes.
“The repairs happen regardless of what temperatures are,” Baker said.
Franklin residents did not have to evacuate the area.

As a result, some residents did not have water until Saturday evening and some may still be without gas.
However, the entire area affected was under a Water Boil Advisory until Sunday evening.
When under a Water Boil Advisory residents are recommended to boil their tap water before drinking, or it could make you sick, according to the Center for Disease Control.
The CDC also recommends being careful when using tap water to brush your teeth, shower, or wash your hands and dishes.
