Food manufacturer opening facility in Springfield, creating 108 new jobs

CLARK COUNTY — A food manufacturer is set to open a new facility in the Miami Valley creating new job opportunities in the area.

State Representative Kyle Koehler, R-Springfield, announced on Monday that Surati Sweet Mart’s (Surati) is expanding to Springfield, creating 108 new jobs and investing $3,387,030 in new payroll.

“During a time rife with uncertainty, Surati’s announcement of 108 new jobs in Springfield showcases the resiliency of Clark County’s hardworking citizens and business community,” said Koehler. “Every new job strengthens our local economy and provides the opportunities for growth we have been striving for.”

Surati is a manufacturer and distributor of over 400 Indian food products primarily through retail stores in the US and Canada, according to a release from Koehler’s office

The Springfield location will be the first U.S. manufacturing operation for Surati, the release said.

The project is a collaboration with JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition, the Ohio Department of Development and the Greater Springfield Partnership.
