DAYTON — A structure was considered a total loss, and an emergency demolition was ordered after an early morning fire in Dayton.

Around 12:14 a.m., crews were dispatched to the intersection of East Fifth Street and Harbine Avenue on reports of a structure fire, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch sergeant.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire conditions throughout a structure located in the 3300 block of E. Fifth Street.
No injuries were reported at the scene, according to Dayton Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Brad French.
Multiple hose lines were used to control the fire, but due to extensive structural damage, the structure was considered a total loss. An emergency demolition was ordered as a result.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
