Firefighters put out early morning fire in Dayton; cause under investigation

DAYTON — Firefighters responded to a reported house fire in Dayton early Saturday morning.

Around 6:22 a.m. Dayton Fire crews noticed a fire in the 3100 block of West Third Street while returning to their station from an unrelated call, Dayton Fire Assistant Chief Brad French said. They arrived on the scene as additional crews were being dispatched.

A small fire was reported inside the home and was quickly put out.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call 937-333-TIPS (8477).
