DAYTON — A 78-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by the open driver’s side door on her vehicle, while a 14-year-old backed it out of the driveway, when both the woman and the car were then hit by another car.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Liscum Drive.

According to a crash report, a 14-year-old Dayton boy was backing Barbara Martin’s car out of her driveway and into Liscum Drive. It’s not clear if the teen knew Martin or why he may have been in her vehicle, however police have opened a vehicular manslaughter investigation, according to incident report.
The crash reported listed the teen as being “emotional” and also distracted by something outside the vehicle.
Martin was hit by the driver’s door and both her and the car the teen was driving went into Liscum Drive, where a passing vehicle hit both Martin and the car, the crash report shows.
Police have released few details about the crash, but said its department’s traffic services department is investigating.
The teen driver and the other car’s driver were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the report.
