RIVERSIDE — The identity of a man killed in a wrong-way crash on state Route 4 in Riverside last week has been released.

On Wednesday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the man as Elifas Lopez-Rivera, 27, of New Carlisle.
The crash happened on Oct.16 in the area of SR 4 near Harshman Road shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to initial reports.

According to troopers, the crash happened when Lopez-Rivera was heading south in the northbound lanes of SR 4 when he struck a Jeep and a Subaru. After striking the two vehicles, Lopez-Rivera’s vehicle caught fire.
Lopez-Rivera was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the Subaru had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The northbound lanes of SR 4 were closed for approximately four hours while the scene was cleared.
