Dayton man indicted for shooting death of pregnant fiancée

DAYTON — A Dayton man was indicted Tuesday for the shooting death of his pregnant fiancée in January.

Kendall Lee Hock, 24, was indicted for fatally shooting Angelica Ramey on Jan 11, 2021, according to a media release from Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr.

The investigation and autopsy determined that Hock had shot Ramey, who was also reportedly in the early stages of pregnancy at the time she was murdered.

On Monday, January 11, 2021, the defendant called 911 and reported that Ramey had shot herself with his firearm.

According to the release, it was learned that Hock had obtained the gun the day before, despite having previously been convicted of felony drug offenses, and is legally barred from being in possession of a firearm.

Hock was indicted on two counts of having weapons while under disability on January 20, 2021.

He was also indicted for two counts of violating a protection order, but it was unrelated to the shooting.

The Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Hock on Tuesday on additional counts, including two counts murder, one count felonious assault (deadly weapon),one count felonious assault (serious physical harm) one count involuntary manslaughter (unlawful termination of pregnancy), two counts of having weapons while under disability, and two counts of violating a protection order.

The counts of murder, felonious assault, and involuntary manslaughter include 3‐year firearm specifications, the release said.

Hock is is currently in custody in the Montgomery County Jail, being held on a $50,000 cash bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 8:30 a.m.
