Dayton man indicted on murder charges in shooting death

DAYTON — A Dayton man has been indicted on multiple charges in connection to the shooting death of a 24-year-old Dayton woman.

Terrance Butler, 32, is accused of shooting Mizette Selen Printup on Notre Dame Avenue in Dayton on the evening of June, 15, 2021. Printup died five days later, on June 20, from her injuries at an Miami Valley Hospital, according to Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr.

An investigation determined Butler had an altercation with another male prior to the shooting. The other male got into a vehicle with two passengers, attempting to drive away. Mizette and another female were trying to catch up to the vehicle to get into it when Butler allegedly retrieved a firearm and fired numerous rounds at the vehicle and the surrounding area, striking the vehicle and Mizette.

Butler was indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury for:

  • Two counts of Murder
  • One count of Involuntary Manslaughter
  • Six counts of Felonious Assault
  • Five counts of Discharge of a Firearm On or Near a Public Roadway 
  • Three counts of Having Weapons While Under Disability

Butler is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, June 29 at 8:30 a.m.
