Dayton house fire calls for full evacuation

DAYTON — A Dayton house was on fire Saturday overnight.

Dayton Fire and medics responded to the 40 block of South Westview Avenue at 4:35 a.m. on reports of a structure fire, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch told News Center 7.

When crews arrived on scene, they reported seeing flames from the “delta” side of the house, or the right-side.

Crews performed a full evacuation before fighting the fire, dispatch informed.

There were no reported injuries; however, medics were still called to the scene as a part of procedure, dispatch stated.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.

The fire was under control at 5:10 a.m., 35 minutes from the time dispatch first received the call.
