DAYTON — Multiple Dayton Fire crews responded to a residential fire Sunday overnight.

Crews were called to the 900 block of South Broadway Street at around 12:05 a.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.
The two-story house was vacant during the time of the fire, dispatch informed.
Crews at the scene reported that the first floor was not on fire, but was “not far behind,” according to emergency scanners. As such, crews performed an offensive fire attack to extinguish the flames, dispatch stated.
The origin of the fire is currently unknown. Dayton Fire will be investigating the incident.
