DAYTON — The Dayton Fire Department announced the promotion of three members into new ranks during a ceremony on Monday.
Firefighter and Paramedic Christopher Rowlett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Rowlett is a second-generation member of the DFD, and joined the department as an EMT in 2011, according to a release.

He was promoted to Firefighter in 2013, and holds an Associate’s Degree in EMS & Fire Science and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Management.
Lieutenant Rowlett is certified as a State of Ohio Firefighter II, Paramedic, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Instructor, EMS Instructor, and Fire Safety Inspector Instructor, the release said.

Lieutenant Matthew Quick was promoted to the rank of Captain. Captain Quick joined the department in 2007, and was assigned as a firefighter at Companies 16 and 13.
He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015 and served as the Incident Support Unit (ISU) at Company 11 and as the assigned officer at Company 2 on the First Platoon. He holds certification as a State of Ohio Firefighter II, Paramedic, and Fire Safety Inspector. Captain Quick will be assigned to the Second Platoon, the release said.

Captain David Grubb was promoted to the rank of District Chief.
According to the release, DC Grubb joined the department in 1998, was promoted to Lieutenant in 2013, and was promoted to Captain in 2017. He has served throughout his career at Companies 13, 4, 15, and 2, and has most recently been the assigned officer at Company 11 on the First Platoon.
He is trained as a Rescue Technician and Hazardous Materials Technician, and also holds certification as a State of Ohio Firefighter II, Paramedic, and Fire Safety Inspector. District Chief Grubb will be assigned to the Second Platoon.
