SPRINGFIELD — Two brothers from Dayton accused of being involved in the deadly shooting outside a Springfield Speedway in February have been arrested, U.S. Marshals said.
Sean Thomas, 26, of Dayton was wanted for murder and attempted murder after police said he killed Keyshayla Collins after an argument inside the business on North Limestone Street. Police said Thomas also shot another man, who tried to get away by running behind the business after being shot, an affidavit read. Thomas was arrested this morning in Decatur, Georgia near Atlanta.
The man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip.
The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. on Feb. 26.
Video obtained by police showed Thomas chase the man and appear to run out of ammo when he tried to shoot him again behind the gas station, court records read.
Keyshayla Collins died at the scene.
Police also have arrested Thomas’ brother, Demietrus Scott, 21, who wanted for complicity to murder, court records show. Investigators said Scott was with Thomas and drove off in the same direction Thomas ran after the shooting, court records read.
