CENTERVILLE — Style Encore at Cross Pointe Shopping Center has announced it will close in February, making it the latest retailer with plans to leave the shopping center.

A store employee told News Center 7 the store will close for good on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.

Style Encore is a consignment shop that sold gently used name brand clothing.

The closure is the latest to hit the shopping center at the corner of state Route 48 and state Route 725, with Marshalls confirming last month its plans to relocate its store to the former Fresh Thyme location on Feedwire Road in Sugarcreek Twp.

Despite the recent departures from the shopping center, city officials have said it remains a key spot for development.

“We feel that Cross Pointe is a vibrant commercial center for us in the City of Centerville. We’ve seen a lot of development there with the new residential apartment complexes and new businesses and what not. Obviously it’s a very important part of our economic development here in the city,” said Mike Norton-Smith, Development Director for the City of Centerville.

“Retail really has changed in the past couple years. Partially by the pandemic. E-commerce in particular. All of those businesses are making decisions about what’s best for their model,” Norton-Smith said.
