One person treated for injury after fire at Kettering apartment

KETTERING — Fire crews in Kettering were able to make quick work of a fire at an apartment complex Monday morning.

Crews were called out to Highland Park Apartments on E. Dorothy Lane around 8 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke showing from the second floor.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a fire in a single apartment. Kettering Fire Department Assistant Chief David Roth said crews were able to quickly put it out.

Smoke moved throughout the complex, but the fire was contained to one unit, according to Roth.

One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

An estimated amount of damage is not available at this time.

A cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
