Crash into pole blocks intersection of Soldiers Home, Farmersville-West Carrollton roads

WEST CARROLLTON — UPDATE @8 a.m.

Power has been restored to almost all Dayton Power and Light customers following a crash in West Carrollton late Thursday night.

As of 8 a.m., five people remain without power.

UPDATE @7:07 a.m.:

The intersection remains closed as DP&L crews work to replace the utility pole that was struck during the accident. Officials said the road will reopen once the pole is replaced later this morning.

About 145 DP&L customers were without power when the pole was struck. Crews are also working to restore power, which was supposed to be restored by 7 this morning.

UPDATE @ 11 p.m.:

The intersection of Farmersville-West Carrollton Road at Soldiers Home Road is expected to remain closed through at least daybreak.

A Dayton Power & Light crew has to replace a utility pole damaged when a car crashed into it Thursday night.

The driver was cited for failure to control. He and his passenger, a woman, refused medical treatment, West Carrollton police said.

FIRST REPORT

The intersection of Soldiers Home and Farmersville-West Carrollton roads is closed tonight after a car crashed into a DP&L pole.

The crash was reported around 10 p.m., and two medics were requested for two people. Their injuries were not believed to be serious, according to police dispatchers.

According to initial reports, the pole is held up by wires, and a DP&L crew was called for repairs.

A tow truck was called for the car that crashed into the pole.
