The city’s development director tells News Center 7′s Brandon Lewis that Clayton Properties Group Inc., doing business as Arbor Homes, is asking for the 49 acres to be rezoned for 155 single-family homes.
The application for the proposal was filed with the city in February.
Those for and against the project are expected to address the council during tonight’s meeting.
At least one resident, a man who lives across the road from the targeted acreage, said he not a fan of the sheer density of the proposed project. People moved to the section of Clayton to enjoy country living, said the resident, Jeremy Blanford.
“We’re not opposed to the land getting developed,” he told News Center 7′s Lewis. “We welcome new neighbors, enjoy the peace and quiet that we see out here but let’s be smart about [development],” he said.
We’re keeping tabs on tonight’s meeting. We’ll report the outcome of the meeting in an update to this developing story.
