UPDATE @ 10:22 p.m.: The boy in the accident on Kolping Avenue apparently rode his bicycle from between parked vehicles and collided with the passing vehicle, according to the preliminary Dayton police investigation, Sgt. Danielle Cash said.
The boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident, which the sergeant said is still under investigation.
INITIAL REPORT
A child struck by a vehicle in the 400 block of Kolping Avenue in Dayton has been taken to children's hospital.
Dayton police and a medic unit were dispatched about 7:45 p.m. on a report of a child who was on a bicycle who was struck by a vehicle.

The child struck is a 10-year-old boy, according to a woman who identified herself as the victim's grandmother.
According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the boy was conscious and alert at the scene.
