Centerville superintendent announces plans to retire

CENTERVILLE — Centerville Schools superintendent says he plans to retire after 42 years in education.

In a letter to district families Thursday, superintendent Tom Henderson said that he plans to retire Aug. 1.

“The Centerville community has been my home for over 50 years and it has been a privilege to work alongside so many talented Centerville/ Washington Township administrators, staff, students, community leaders, volunteers and parents,” Henderson wrote.

Henderson went on to say that he would always cherish his time with Centerville Schools. He spent 31 years with the district.

He said he plans to continue to work, but he looks forward to spending more time with his family.

“I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Centerville community for providing me with the extraordinary opportunity to serve in such an outstanding organization,” Henderson wrote.
