CENTERVILLE — Centerville City Schools has called a special board meeting Thursday and a discussion about COVID-19 will be taking place, according to the agenda.
The board will have a “discussion regarding safety measures due to the increase in COVID variant cases and the most effective way to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for staff and students,” according to the district.

A district spokeswoman said the district does not anticipate the board taking any action at the meeting.
Prior to the COVID-19 discussion, the public will be allowed to speak.
The district previously has said masks for students would not be mandatory this school year.
Centerville schools start classes two weeks from today.
The special meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the South Unit Commons at Centerville High School.
