A Carillon Christmas kicks off today with adjustments; no lighting ceremony

DAYTON — A Carillon Christmas will begin today featuring, lights, music, and tasty treats throughout its 65-acre open-air museum campus; including the magnificent Carillon Tree of Light.

However, for this year, they will not be holding a big public lighting ceremony of the Tree of Light.

The Carillon Tree of Light is the tallest lighted tree in the state and stands at 200 feet tall. The tree is affixed to the Deeds Carillon bell tower off South Patterson Blvd.

It consists of over 20,000 lights and nearly 100 separate stands to light the Dayton sky each night from dusk until dawn.

A Carillon Christmas runs from Nov. 24 to Dec. 30 and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day:

Sunday thru Thursday: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday thru Saturday: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
